Gambling-The Dream of America

Isn’t that what betting is all about. You are constantly hopeful that you just can get something for nothing, or at the very least quite little. Do you not recall what your mom told you? You cannot obtain one thing for nothing. That is what my mom told me, and I’ve found out since then that she was absolutely right. I believe Wilson Mizner mentioned it very best, when he mentioned, "Gambling: The certain way of getting practically nothing for something." Really, at the end of the day, that’s it…..correct?
In the wonderful state of Montana they’ve these wonderful small equipment, known as keno machines. These keno devices are everywhere, and the places that these machines reside are named "gambling dens". I place gambling establishments is quotes because they aren’t betting houses like you feel of betting houses. You will find no table casino game or slot machine game machines, just video slot machines poker and keno machines. In any case, I managed to have myself roped in to the dream of winning a couple hundred dollars in a sitting. The next factor I knew I was going back to these machines pretty much daily. After a few months of this I realized that no one actually wins. Oh sure, you may win fifty bucks here and there, except over span of time your just feeding the equipment five dollar bills like they were candy.
I was able to check myself and I don’t even go into the "casinos" any more. I have met people who seriously pretty much lost everything they’ve betting the stupid keno machines. The factor that gets me about this type of gambling may be the fact that betting houses will advertise around the radio that they’ve an eighty five percent payback rate. This would be the rate because it’s mandated by law. A eighty five percent payback rate sounds fantastic, but when you think about it this simply means that should you place 1 dollar into the equipment it gives 85 cents back . That is how it works. Just imagine of it as a reverse ATM. When I started thinking of gambling in these terms, I stopped.
I suppose that’s my objective with this article. To receive you to realize that you just genuinely can’t win, no matter what other individuals tell you. As Doc Holiday stated in Tombstone, "The odds are all on the house." That and only that may be the only reason there is even a place on this planet named Las Vegas. Because the odds are all for the casino.
